Basingstoke, October 2012 – IBM Premier and Elite Juniper Networks Business Partner, Imtech ICT UK Limited http://www.imtechict.co.uk, has proven its technical capabilities as one of the UK’s leading Cloud integration partners by announcing the success of its framework agreement application for the provision of pan-government G-Cloud services http://gcloud.civilservice.gov.uk.

Following a comprehensive public tender process and vigorous selection procedure, the Government Procurement Service (GPS) has granted Imtech ICT’s application to deploy G-Cloud Specialist Cloud Services (G-CLOUD II – RM1557 II) to assist in the improved delivery of ICT (Information Communication and Technology) to public sector agencies including local and county councils, public libraries and the emergency services.

Clare White, Head of Imtech ICT’s Public Sector division comments, “We are thrilled to be part of the government’s new Cloud initiative. Imtech has been delivering highly technical infrastructure and networking solutions to the public sector for some time now and acquiring G-Cloud status enables us to deploy a range of ICT solutions better, faster with a more affordable model than ever before. This will also alleviate unwanted bottlenecks in the provision of ICT and provide a commercially viable model for Government organisations..”

Imtech has a long and established history in technology innovation, having celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2010 – “About Imtech NV” The new G-Cloud accreditation ensures Imtech ICT is firmly on course in pursuit of its mission to help organisations around the Globe re-think ICT in the light of the Cloud, and seize new opportunities through the innovative adoption of technology.

Clare White continues, “Accreditation was a thorough process and allowed us to demonstrate our capabilities through the tendering process. Imtech’s successful involvement in G-Cloud now sets us apart from other system integrators and is further affirmation that we as a company, have the highest technical standards and skills required to assist clients in their journey towards the Cloud.”

Recent statistics from independent analysts, IDC, show that Worldwide revenue from IT Cloud services exceeded $21.5 billion in 2010 and is set to reach $72.9 billion in 2015 http://www.idc.com/prodserv/idc_cloud.jsp. The G-Cloud initiative is the government’s commitment to the adoption of Cloud computing models in order to prepare and deliver computing resources to meet the seismic shift in how technology is distributed now and in the future.

Chris Benson, who manages Imtech ICT’s Managed Services team concludes, “We look forward to working with a range of new public sector organisations to deploy the solutions they need to make significant improvements to the services they ultimately, provide to the public.”

Cloud adoption will enable many government agencies to benefit from economies of scale, meet environmental and sustainability targets as well as enabling them to take advantage of new and emerging technologies to deliver faster business benefits and reduce costs.

Ends.
